One of our current market entry client’s is one of the largest and foremost suppliers of accommodation and logistics to the large international sporting federations, whose key stakeholders (their clients / the end clients) include members of the Olympic Sports Federation (executive and service workers) major international media (BBC, Discovery, CNN, etc.), key event sponsors, multinational corporates and others. Most of whom are international from all countries globally.


Our client will be servicing their end-clients out of the PyeongChang & Gangneung region as one of the leading service providers to the PyeongChang Winter Olympics. Their clients include the largest TV Broadcasting Groups who will be hosted at their serviced apartments in PyeongChang and are generally the key executive, crew and service workers who are directly involved in the Olympics (no spectators).


They are based in 10 countries globally and have been one of the key service providers for events such as the FiFa World Cup, South Africa, the Summer Olympics in Rio and the upcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo plus many others.

Local Scout_PyeongChang Winter Olympics Student Internship


*48 positions are currently available.


| Your Responsibilities |


 

As the Local Scout intern you will mainly work in PyeongChang assisting with all the end client’s service needs related to their accommodation and regionwide logistics. Upon arrival, you will work closely with the Accommodation, Accounts Manager and 3rd party Korean service providers and logistics teams to ensure that the end client’s needs have all been considered and pay careful attention to all quality control matters. This will include everything from helping with check-ins, booking taxis to taking clients on tours in the region (local knowledge of the region is an advantage). This would be very similar to a mix between large scale events management and concierge job at a high end full-service international conference & convention hotel.


Expectations:

You are a key person in a very fast moving service orientated environment in the heart of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, including servicing the most important Olympics Executives and Television Crews.

The tasks listed hereunder are just a brief outline of the expected tasks to be performed. You are, however, encouraged to propose new, more effective ways to achieve your goals and with the Olympics being a very dynamic environment, things are always changing and no job is too big or too small for any team member (executive or junior). As a Local Scout / Community Manager you will be responsible for a group or groups of clients (accounts).


  • They have an open and unrestricted channel to communicate with you about any local issues and challenges.

  • Their needs are satisfied in a timely and professional manner, coordinated with your different teams.

  • They get the experience of a smooth accommodation and logistics service.


| Specific Tasks |


 

  • Accommodation Communication & Coordination before, during and after the event:

    • Communication of team rooming lists and changes (if applicable)

    • Quality control and coordination of accommodation before check in

    • Complaint & satisfaction management

  • Client Service package needs are correctly communicated, and subcontracted services remain reliable, well co-ordinated, managed and checked, including:

    • Local film crews, equipment and storage

    • Local client staffing is ready to go

    • Transportation & drivers, interpreters & translators,

    • micro-events coordinators, team schedules and locations are sorted,

  • Client Communication:

    • Introduction to the city, local and Korea-wide entertainment and cultural sites

    • Assisting during check-in & support with runner tasks

    • Coordination and quality control of all service providers and local transportation companies utilized by clients, including taxis and other logistics support

  • Most be able and willing to relocate to the PyeongChang and Gangneung


| MUST-HAVE Skills and Expertise |


 

  • Work experience with international clients or and overseas working experience (and Korean service providers) - BONUS.

  • Fluent in Korean, English (Written / Spoken), other languages are welcomed (Spanish, French, Chinese, Indian, etc.)

  • Driver’s license (useful but not required)

  • Must be able to handle having very high responsibility and work under fast paced pressure!

  • Strong solutions creator!

  • Knowledge of the area, the city and its surroundings (bonus)

  • Motivation to showcase the region and the hospitality to the international clients

  • Friendly and approachable by colleagues and clients.
